Community Resource Database

Estimates show that nearly 20 percent of Charlotte does not have internet in the home or the resources to take advantage of it. Digital Charlotte is creating a community wide database of services and organizations working to address this problem. Internet access is directly related to economic mobility, education, workforce development, and civic engagement, amongst other things. This database begins to connect the resources in our community working to address this challenge. See something missing? Please let us know.

Low-Cost Device Resources

Having access to the internet starts with the device you use to connect. We think of devices in two ways: can you do your homework on the device, and can you apply for a job with the device? For the most part, this lends itself toward laptops and desktops. Here are organizations supplying low-cost (at or below $100) devices to individuals and organizations working to connect their community.

Our mission is to end the digital divide by equipping all economically disadvantaged students and families in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools with at-home access to computers, digital broadband, and the digital literacy training necessary to immediately stimulate academic and professional success. E2D also creates custom training programs for organizational partners.
