How to Force Quit an App on an Android Phone

Step 3: Touch the tab labeled “running” to view all of the apps that are currently in operation on your phone.

Step 4: You may need to stop an app from running if it gets stuck, says it’s busy, or has any other issue. Simply click the app that’s causing you problems.

Step 5: Once you’ve selected the app an option to “force stop” will appear underneath the name of the app. Select “force stop”. Your application should no longer be running.
