June 6, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join The Housing Partnership for a community conversation on Charlotte’s economic mobility dilemma from a black man’s perspective – set in a barbershop – where we know many candid conversations happen amongst black men. The Real Talk panel will convene inside No Grease Barbershop Mosaic Village in the shadow of Charlotte’s Uptown.

Participants include:

Braxton Winston, Charlotte City Councilmember

Garry McFadden, former CMPD Homicide Detective and Mecklenburg County Sheriff Elect

“No Limit” Larry Mims, Radio DJ and Nightlife Personality

Rev. Clifford A. Jones, Senior Minister at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church

Shaun Corbett, Co-Founder of Cops and Barbers

William “Teddy” McDaniel III, President of Urban League Central Carolinas

The event will be moderated by Kellen Nixon, Senior Director of STEM Education and Discovery Place Education Studio at Discovery Place.

Below is the purpose of the conversation as well as additional details.
